Hey folks!So my friends and I do a lot of Dungeons and Dragons stuff, and a lot of Minecraft, and recently we decided to try to combine the two and basically do DnD in MC. We plan on using a butt-ton of mods mixed with command block stuff (one of our players is amazing with commands) for different monsters and weapons and whatnot, and the DMs can act as NPCs and bosses and the whole thing. (More of less following the MTG Innistrad storyline)Our one big problem is we wanted to find a good 1.12.2 map of like a medieval kingdom to base things off of. Some big cities, small villages, wilderness in between, nice terrain, etc. We would use the map as the base for everything and then ourselves build dungeons and other notable locations the map doesn't already have.
However, we hit a snag in finding a good map.

It is the first map to ever use Youtube videos to provide the narration.This is accomplished by playing videos on Youtube when certain checkpoints are reached in the game. Instead of stopping the game to read a long text file the player will simply Alt-Tab to his/her browser and play the video to listen to the audio for the storyline! What's even better than that is as soon as the video starts playing, the player can continue playing the map while the dialog plays in the background.There is a new Video menu that let's the player easily navigate all the videos.

No seriously, I am not kidding. This will be one of the most challenging (and also rewarding) maps you will play.Hidden ChestsThere are a large amount of hidden chests in this map. There are no diamonds or other collectables to keep track of. In this game, finding the hidden chests will keep you alive.

Instead you will have story elements in the form of audio from videos on YouTube.All the other videos are in the form of Video Responses to each preceding video.While playing, when you come across a sign that says 'Watch Video 5' you will Alt-Tab to your browser, click on the next video and as soon as it starts playing, go back into Minecraft. I like the video note system, and the map in itself is awesome.
I'd just say that there are so many monsters and way too many creepers, they blow everything up. But still, a very good map.:smile.gif:I used obsidian to 'creeper proof' all of the important areas. All redstone and special stuff is protected.There are a lot of mobs in some of the areas but that is what makes it hard.

I may have not given enough items at the start i will test it some more to make sure. Quote fromOh. Questions.If I use your texture pack without the patcher will your map still be playable?If I use the patcher, is my texture pack stuck as this forever or will I still be able to switch back to default or other custom packs that DON'T need the patcher?All the patcher does to 16x packs is change the water and lava textures to what they are in the actual texture pack. For higher resolution packs, it fixes certain textures such as the pumpkin textures, nether textures, etc.
It'll still allow you to play the game with any other texture packs you have; it'll just make them a bit better.:3. Sorry i couldnt respond sooner, first day 10 post limit stopped me.Anyways, you want to use the patcher for all the reasons Losm said. Also it is very easy to unpatch the texture files when you are done, so it won't be permanant.The map really was designed for specific textures, pumpkins for example would look really silly if the correct textures are not used.As far as 'the puzzle' most people are referring to the maze of insanity i think. It was designed to be hard, you have to be observant.
