I'm a little surprised this release has a relatively low rating, personally I think it's a great album. The non-communicative track titles kind of tell it all: no melodies, no structures, no organic instruments.

This is the purest noise album in Fennesz's catalogue. The scope of the textures heard is very impressive, perhaps not as 'wowing' as Hotel Parallel, but still pretty abrasive.

But it isn't all about loud distortions, there are some unexpected 'pretty' moments where the sounds give way to a more ambient field of drones. When I listen to this album I rarely seek any particular tracks out, rather I enjoy shuffling them, which really adds to the experience, I think (it's a different album every time I hear it).

On Plus Forty Seven Degrees 56' 37' Minus Sixteen Degrees 51' 08, is concerned with creating extremely dense and enveloping sound textures, essentially forgoing rhythmic or melodic development.
